ERO: European Research Overview

pridal Martin Botťánek

The European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop), established in Thessaloniki, Greece, to support cooperation between EU member states, developed the European Research Overview (ERO) platform to promote provision of information on experts/researchers, research projects and publications in the field of vocational education and training and human resource development.

The so-called ERO base consists of three on-line databases

  • Directory of Experts;

  • Paper Base;

  • Project Base.

The databases are available at the Cedefop’s web site at http://www.trainingvillage.gr/etv/Projects_Networks/Ero/ERO_activity_fields.asp#ERObase. A search interface allows finding relevant information.

The databases are interlinked. Experts can update information on already included projects as well as insert information on new projects. The databases allow uploading documents, e.g. projects final reports. By this, ERO base supports dissemination of outcomes at the international level.

The databases are maintained by Cedefop in cooperation with member states. The State Institute of Vocational Education – the Slovak National Observatory of Vocational Education (http://www.siov.sk/refernet/) is responsible for inserting information regarding Slovakia.
